Beautiful Canarian house between sea and La Laguna

In the quiet village of Valle de Guerra, in the vast plain of the northern coast below of La Laguna, is the location of this traditional Canarian house, which is more than 200 years old but in very good condition. The thick walls ensure a balanced healthy climate throughout the year. Many beautiful wooden components such as doors, ceiling beams or built in wood shelves from Tea wood make a special, romantic atmosphere. The Tea-wood is the wood of the Canary Island pine, which after a long dry gets harder and harder and very resistant. Around the property there is a well grown environment of bars, restaurants and shops. Locations for swimming as the beach Playa La Arena in Mesa del Mar or the natural swimming pools of Bajamar lie a short distance, as are the stunning natural landscape of the Anaga mountains and the city of San Cristobal de La Laguna, to which belongs Valle de Guerra.

The house has a large living room with open kitchen. Here, as in the rear of the house where the master bedroom with large fitted wardrobe, the high beamed ceilings provide a spacious ambience. Another bedroom and the bathroom have a recessed ceiling, usable, for example, as storage space or even a cozy little gallery for children. In an annex there is a further small room and a utility and storage room.

The garden has a barbecue area, an interesting planting of fruit trees, a brick doghouse at the entrance gate, which protects access to the property, and a very large brick-built water reservoir with 175 cubic meters capacity (25 square meters and 7 meters deep). Here is conceivable to use the aboveground part as a separate garden shed by installing a false ceiling.

San Cristóbal de La Laguna was capital of Tenerife since the beginning of Spanish colonization at the end of the 15th Century. Only with the growing importance of the new port in the north-east of the island the seat of government moved in 1723 to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Today, the university town of La Laguna and Santa Cruz has grown into a metropolis. The rich history remains preserved in the numerous stately homes of the old town, declared by UNESCO as world cultural heritage. Here you can enjoy the beautiful Canary wooden balconies, magnificent patios and decorated facades with a tour or stroll around the many shops, bars and restaurants in the pedestrian streets of La Laguna.

The churches and monasteries of the city are also worth a visit and show the importance of the settlement, which was created on a fruitful plane at a previous lake. The Tower of the famous Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción offers the best overview of the historical treasures of San Cristóbal de La Laguna. In the church there is a large baptismal font in glazed ceramic, which is even from before the Spanish conquest.

The central location between the north and the south coast of Tenerife, at the foot of the ridge on which a road leads up to many scenic views to Mount Teide and the proximity to the overwhelming nature of the Anaga Mountains with numerous hiking trails, make the city in addition to a special attraction. Beaches are on the wild north coast, and the protected tyellow beach Las Teresitas in Santa Cruz is only 12 km away.
