About Aguamansa and surrounding area:

Aguamansa belongs to the municipality of La Orotava and is a beautiful mountain village at the foot of the Teide mountain. This place has become important in history by the naturalist Alexander von Humboldt, who started from here some of its discovery tours in Tenerife. The view from the village down into the valley is breathtaking. Allegedly Humboldt was in Aguamansa over 200 years ago and also enjoyed the fantastic view. The valley, in which you look, is created by tectonic activity and thus is regarded as "lowered area". In the Teide National Park there is a viewing platform, which was named after Alexander von Humboldt, the "Mirador Humboldt".

Aguamansa has always been famous for its breathtaking fauna and flora. Many researchers and explorers have moved to the small village that surprises with one of the most luxuriant vegetation on all Tenerife.

Aguamansa is known in Tenerife for its fantastic trout farm. One of the most famous fish in Tenerife is the trout from Aguamansa. This breed of fresh fish can be found and purchased locally. Thereby it is possible that you are allowed to pick your own fish from the tank during a tour in the farm.
